1965

Ioannis N. Patilis started a wholesale business with natural precious stone jewels in Athens, building a strong partner network with jewellery retailers all over Greece.

Ioannis N. Patilis was born in Nafpaktos. Raised in a family of goldsmiths, he was taught the art of jewellery and commerce from a very young age. After completing his studies in Athens, he decided to work in the family business and focus on a sector which was new in the Greek jewellery market at that time: the jewels with natural precious stones.

Preferring wholesale, he travelled abroad and returned to Greece with stones and new designs that were desirable not only to Greek consumers, but also to American and European tourists. Soon, he became very popular among his colleagues and customers for the quality of stones, the jewellery design, and his excellent collaboration skills. With his base in Athens, he built a strong partnership network all over Greece. These collaborations lasted nearly three decades, before Ioannis Patilis opens a jewellery store in Athens.

1993

1993 was a landmark year. Ioannis Patilis made a big step forward, as he established his name in retail business. Located in the pedestrian part of Voukourestiou street, home to some of the world’s most prestigious brands, Ioannis Patilis was soon recognized as one of the most “specialized” jewellery stores in Athens.

Unique jewellery of high quality, crafted with care, were the recipe for success and strong collaborations, based on trust, a fundamental value in the jewellery business.
